About Yugo Taguchi

Yugo Taguchi is a Japanese reggae artist and producer based in Berlin, Germany. Born and raised in Yokohama, Japan, Yugo discovered reggae as a teenager and was immediately drawn to its messages of unity, spirituality, and resistance. Active as a selector, sound system operator and MC since 2004, and as an artist since early 2018, he has transformed that early passion into an internationally recognized career that bridges Japanese culture, European underground music, and the roots of Caribbean reggae.

In 2015, Yugo relocated to France, immersing himself in the European reggae scene and forging connections with artists including Bigga Ranx, Junior Roy, Ricky Sai Sai, and Joseph Cotton. These collaborations shaped his signature sound — rooted in traditional dub and roots reggae, yet infused with a distinctly contemporary, cross-cultural sensibility. He later settled in Berlin, a city whose eclectic, boundary-pushing music scene proved a natural home for his artistic vision.

This website serves as the official online home for Yugo Taguchi — fans, festival promoters, press professionals, and fellow musicians can discover his catalogue of releases, watch live performances, browse upcoming show dates, and shop exclusive merchandise. With 30+ releases and 100+ live shows, he has performed at festivals including Rototom Sunsplash (Dub Academy, 2024), showcasing his live presence to audiences in 15 countries.
